The next installment in my podcast series on self care takes a deeper look at what is physical self care. I think that physical self care is one of the areas of taking care of ourselves that is the most neglected.
My own journey to taking care of my physical self is long and winding and I really have only figured out what I need to be successful in this area in the last years. If you had told me 4.5 years ago I would be a person who needed to exercise 5-6 days a week to feel whole, I would have laughed at you. Fast forward to a lot of self work and guidance from people who I love and trust and I know that taking care of my physical self is one of the foundational building blocks to taking care of my whole person.

On the podcast we have begun a series on self care. I wanted to take a deep dive into what is self care in all aspects of our life and what we can do to take better care of ourselves.
In my personal practices of self care and my work with my clients I think one of the things that can be most enlightening is to take a self care assessment. The assessment asks you different questions related to self care in multiple areas of your life – social, emotional, physical, professional, and spiritual. I have also started a podcast series that will look at each of these areas and how we can work towards having better self-care for our whole selves.
